I’m sure you have been as hooked on Dancing on Ice as we have these last few weeks. On the evening of the semi finals the competition was really hotting up. Only the most determined of competitors were left to face the Ice Panel.

he semi final was rife with tension and drama on the ice: Daniella Westbrook was skating to keep her place in pole position, Gary Lucy not only performed a charismatic 30 second solo stint but also received his best score of the season, and Hayley Tamaddon was battling to regain her place at the top of the leaderboard. Despite Kieron Richardson’s routine being packed to the hilt with a roll up, sail, aeroplane and the one handed death spiral he was placed in fourth. Daniella Westbrook was voted out after being placed in third, Gary Lucy was placed in second, and Hayley Tamaddon skated in to the final of Dancing on Ice in first place. As the semi final leader board was so tight we all knew that the final skate off was never going to be a foregone conclusion.

The grand finale performances were every couple's finest achievement. Hayley Tamaddon simply won the audience's hearts with a romantically breathtaking bolero that was of a similar ilk to that which Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean performed during their career.

For a tremendous fifth series a brave cohort of 14 celebrities and professional figure skaters are vying to win the approval and votes of the judges on “The Ice Panel” and the public. Each week the two couples with the lowest leader board score will face the “Skate off” and the couple with the least votes from the judges will leave the competition. This year the celebrities and professionals will face Karen Barber, Nicky Slater, Jason Gardiner, Spice Girl’s Emma Bunton, and Robin Cousins on the “Ice Panel”. Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby will be rink side to present the gripping live series.  

Former Olympic Champions Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean return to our screens in the hope of coaching the celebrities into figure skating felines.

This year’s Dancing on Ice features an impressive lineup of singer’s, actor’s, doctor’s, and Olympic swimmer’s who have put themselves forward to challenge and conquer the unforgiving ice.

With Ray Quinn’s winning performance last year the celebrities are more determined than ever before to perfect their lifts and jumps. This year their sights are set on mastering daring moves, including the axle, the helicopter and the infamous head-banger.
